The North Face & 350.org Stop Motion Animation Project
This was a project to highlight a campaign between The North Face and 350.org for International Day of Climate Action that was on October 24th, 2009. People in 181 countries came together for the most widespread day of environmental action in the planet’s history. At over 5,200 events around the world, people gathered to call for action on the climate crisis.
We were hired to design the look and feel of the piece and deliver a final 3 minute video to use on the 350.org website, thenorthface.com website, and as many other places online as we could put it. They will also be showing this video in retail stores across the globe.
The idea behind the video was to have everyone send in photos of them passing the 350.org sign and doing all kinds of fun and creative things with it. The North Face employees and athletes around the world were then shown some ideas we came up with on how to shoot the photos, and then we sent them off to be as creative as they could. After getting thousands of photos from everyone, we choose a select few to animate into the 3 min piece you see here.
As you can see from the video and the photo gallery people were really enthusiastic and came up with some wonderful ideas that made the video so much fun.
